On Sunday 24 May 2020, the Victorian State Government announced the easing of some restrictions, including camping at caravan parks and campgrounds. However, we are not yet allowed to open communal spaces, such as amenity blocks, our camp kitchen or our BBQ’s.
What does this mean?
Our understanding of the new rules is that, with amenity blocks currently staying closed, we are only able to take campers who have their own built-in, self-contained toilet and kitchen facilities. This would typically limit guests to those who have their own hard-roofed caravan (or motor home), with a plumbed-in toilet.
Setting up your own separate “toilet tent”, and God Forbid, digging a hole in the ground, is not acceptable under any circumstances. This may be okay for particular bush camping scenarios, but not within the campgrounds where ground water runs directly into the Yarra River.
We have several dump points situated throughout the park, to enable the emptying of your toilet cartridges.
We expect the next announcement of a further possible easing of restrictions to come on the 22 June 2020 from the State Government.
