COVID 19 update: closing to tourists and annuals on 25th March 2020

As you are aware, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is creating unprecedented challenges for all of us and is impacting on every aspect of how we live. By now you may be aware that the Victorian State Government has mandated to close all Caravan & Camping Parks as of midnight on Wednesday 25th March, with some exceptions.

What does this mean for you?

While all Caravan Parks are now closed to tourists and the general public, some Caravan Parks can remain open in a limited capacity. The only people permitted to stay within Caravan Parks are:

  • People who already have the Caravan Park registered as their Primary Place of Residence (i.e. the existing Full-Time Residents).
  • People staying in Caravan Parks as Interim Accommodation where their Primary Residence is not available (i.e. Displaced Travellers and people who have travelled to Victoria for work purposes)
  • People who require emergency accommodation (where suitable self-contained accommodation is available).

Who is not able to stay?

As the State Government has mandated, there is now a ban on all non-essential travel. This ban means that we cannot allow tourists into the park. Additionally, it means that we are not allowed to have our Annuals stay at their sites at this time.

How are we helping at this time?

We want to assure you that we will keep the Warburton Holiday Park OPEN, so that we can continue to provide essential services to residents, albeit on a restructured basis. Our primary focus is to limit exposure to both Residents and Staff to the Covid-19 virus. To this end, we are effectively operating the reception/office on a limited basis, with a skeleton staff. To assist us in this, we ask that you minimise any unnecessary contact with our office.

Last but not least, we are all in this together!

We realise that these measures are unsettling. However, we wish to ensure you that the safety of our residents and staff is now, and will always be our highest priority. We understand the implications of these changes, and we do not undertake them lightly. However, we must ensure that we conform to the spirit and letter of the Government’s latest directives.

Should you wish to discuss any aspect of this, we encourage you to phone our office, and if necessary, speak with either Simon or David.

Please remember that we are all in this together, and we will be working behind the scenes to keep Warburton Holiday Park running.

Warmest regards,

Simon, David & Staff
