Eastern 80 Charity Bike Ride!

Warburton Holiday Park owner, David Pratt successfully completed a 50km loop of the annual EASTERN 80 charity bike ride on Saturday 19 February.

The Eastern 80 started at the Cog Bike Cafe in Warburton, with participants cycling or walking the Warburton Rail Trail to raise money for a great cause – the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.  David, accompanied by local councillor Jim Child, completed the distance in a time of just on 3 hours (at a more leisurely pace).

“I was nervous beforehand as to whether I would even be able to finish the 50k ride (as I have never ridden this far before), but I realised that having a go and contributing to the event and the community is the real goal. Finishing the ride was a bonus. I plan to try the 80k next year, but a few more practice rides beforehand might be needed,” said David.

The event is in its 9th year and the hope is that they can achieve the grand total of $90,000 which will all go to the Appeal. If the RCH has ever been needed by you or your family, David encourages you to donate via the events’ QR Code. It’s easy to use and all goes to such a worthwhile cause.
